Biography:
Brian Botts was a man of many talents and a heart full of love. Born on November 8th, 1969, Brian lived a life filled with adventure, kindness, dedication, and constant laughter. He was a world-class snowboarder who ran the DC Athletic snowboarding and motocross teams and managed the DC Utah Mountain Lab. He loved anything outdoors and fueled by gasoline. As he matured through life, he gravitated towards mountain biking (his main passion), surfing, snowmobiling, dirt biking and racing his buggy through the desert. He was an incredible athlete and rode at an expert level in everything he did, although he always remained humble and willing to teach.
Also, while in Park City, Brian developed custom homes with a group of partners. When he moved back to San Diego for his love, Jennifer, he segwayed into the digital marketing industry and ran SEO for numerous small businesses across California. Brian was incredibly active and rarely sat on the couch (unless it was to watch motocross on Saturday nights or a good Netflix series like Succession (one of his favorites). He could always be found in his garage working on his toys and, most recently, renovating the 24’ motor home he was styling out for family travels. He was an incredibly skilled craftsman and mechanic who would be ready to fix anything that was broken; be it a vehicle, a bike, a household item or anything he could put his hands on.
Brian’s humor and his personality were entirely magnetic, and as a result, he made best friends everywhere he went. He would listen to comedians or Seinfeld in the garage while he worked to collect more fodder to keep his friends and family entertained. He excelled in all he did, was passionate about outdoor adventures, and, most importantly, was a devoted family man. Brian would move mountains for his wife and daughters. He loved them more than anything on this earth.

Family Information:
Brian leaves behind his loving wife, Jennifer, and two beautiful daughters, Kingsley (12) and Bijoux (10). His family was the center of his world, and his legacy lives on through them. Brian was arguably the best and most devoted husband and father you could ever ask for. Jennifer’s success as a real estate agent directly resulted from his unfailing support. Brian was incredibly capable and hands-on with the family; he gladly handled the endless tasks and responsibilities related to keeping things moving smoothly at home, with the girls, with investments, etc. He dedicated so much time to his daughters and set within them a solid moral compass. He kept them grounded and capable, instilled within them the thirst for laughter and adventure, and – overall – steered them towards a path for nothing less than success. The girls both attend Rhoades School, a highly academic school for gifted children. They are also hardworking members of the competition dance team at Carlsbad Dance Centre for numerous years in jazz, tap, hip-hop, and contemporary genres.
Surfing, hiking and spending time in the great outdoors across the world was their joy together as a family. They LOVED to travel and adventure with family and friends. Touring and camping together across America’s beautiful national parks was their new agenda in the coming years.
Jennifer plans to carry on the family traditions and ensure Brian’s beauties are always living their best lives, just like their dad. Brian also leaves behind an older brother, Cory Botts, and his family, whom he adored. He was, likewise, very close with his older sister, Anet Botts and her family. Brian spoke often of them fondly and kept up with them on the phone since they live out of the area. Brian’s childhood with them shaped him into the man he was – capable, kind, devoted, caring, sensitive, fun-loving, adventurous, hardworking, low maintenance, and full of colorful character and grit!
Brian and Jennifer met 18 years ago, and Brian enjoyed her family as much as his own. His in-laws live in the midwest: Doug and Kathy Janzen, two sisters-in-law, Michele Gagnon and Nicole Coyle, and two brothers-in-law, Dave Gagnon and Bryan Coyle, and their children/grandchildren.
This website is a tribute to Brian and a testament to the love and support surrounding his family.
